Aceasta reteta, de chiftele de peste, era pe my to do list de ceva vreme. Inspirata din retetele americane de crab cakes, este evident adaptata la ingredientele ce le-am avut la indemana. Nu sunt asa fancy ca si crab cakes-urile, pentru ca in primul rand nu au carne de crab, ci doar file de cod, dar sunt absolut delicioase.


INGREDIENTE


– File de cod, cam 500 gr;
– O conserva de porumb;
– O mana de marar;
– O legatura de ceapa verde;
– 2 oua;
– putina faina;
– sare si piper;
– putin sos iute, eu am pus Piri-piri, dar merge si Worcestershire.


MOD DE PREPARARE

Prima data se face rapid pestele. Se da la cuptor, intr-o folie de aluminiu, cu putin ulei de masline, zeama de lamaie, sare si piper. Se lasa cam 10-15 minute, pana se gateste putin. Se scoate, se lasa la racit, si se desface in fasii mici, nu foarte faramitate, cat sa aibe consistenta.
Intr-un bol se amesteca ceapa si mararul, taiate marunt, impreuna cu conserva de porumb.
Se pune pestele fasii peste porumb. Se mai adauga doua oua, si o lingura-doua de faina. Am asezonat cu sare, piper si putin sos iute, eu am avut Piri-piri, dar merge si Worcestershire. Important e sa-i dea un kick de gust. Se amesteca, sa aiba consistenta, iar daca e prea curgator se mai adauga faina.
Intr-o tigaie se inchinge uleiul, si se prajesc ca niste chiftele, iar portionarea se face cu ajutorului unei linguri. Cand s-au rumenit pe ambele parti se scot pe un servetel, si se lasa sa se scurga excesul de ulei.
Am facut un sos simplu, de smantana cu menta, care completeza cu gustul sau racoritor gustul satios al chiftelelor.
Si gata, le-am infulecat intr-o clipita. Sunt o alternativa placuta la carnea de porc, perfecte pentru vara. Enjoy!

This fish recipe recipe has been on my to do list for a while. Inspired by American crab cake recipe, it is, obviously, adapted to the ingredients that I had at hand. It is not as fancy as the crab cakes, because first of all they do not have crab meat, only cod fish file, but they are absolutely delicious.


INGREDIENTS


– Cod fish file, about 500g;
– A can of corn;
– A hand of fresh dill;
– A bundle of green onions;
– 2 eggs;
– a little flour;
– salt and pepper;
a little hot sauce, I put Piri-piri, but Worcestershire goes as well.


METHOD OF PREPARATION


First prepare the fish, quickly. Bake in an aluminum foil with a little olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Leave to cook for about 10-15 minutes. Remove it, let it cool, and pull it appart into small strips, not too finely, to have some consistency.
In a bowl mix the onion and dill, finely chopped, together with the canned corn.
Place the fish over the corn mixture. Add the two eggs, and one tablespoon of flour. I seasoned it with salt, pepper and a little hot sauce, I had Piri-piri, but Worcestershire goes as well. It gives a kick to the fish cakes. Stir, and check the consistency, add flour if necessary.
In a skillet, heat some oil, and fry them as the normal patties and portion them with a spoon. When they are browned on both sides, they are done. Place them on some paper towels and drain the excess oil.
I made a simple peppermint and sour cream sauce, that complements the satiety of the fish cakes with its refreshing taste.
And ready, I ate them in a flash. It’s a good alternative to pork, perfect for the summer. Enjoy!
