Diversitate=experiente multiple.

PAELLA

Paella este fenomenala in Barcelona.

Am baut in mai multe locuri, in unele parti vinul era in concetratie mai mare si am simtit a doua zi urmarile 🙂 .

JAMON IBERICO

Jambonul lor, uscat si taiat super-hiper subtire. Foarte aromat, ti se topeste in gura. Pe unde am mers, l-am ales ori in tapas ori cumva incorporat in felul de mancare. Jamon all the way. As fi putut manca non stop.

This was one of my first questions when we’ve started planing our vacation in Barcelona. Along side the cultural&specific must see spots on our itinerary, the food experience has a major importance for knowing a new culture. It’s the quickest way of knowing the interests and preferences of nation, to understand and perceive their ways.

In Barcelona, food and drinks are great. As in any coastal city with access to the sea, the food is fresh, colorful and full of flavor. Below I made a small list of my recommendations. There are food and locations that I have tried and that have not disappointed me. So if you ever have a way out there, maybe this will help you.

TAPAS

Tapas means several types of food in small quantities that you can order and combine as you wish. There are various kinds of meat, vegetables, potatoes, fish and seafood, some fried, some steamed, some of them baked. Personally, it seems to me to be an ideal way to try as many dishes as you can, without being full with just one. Diversity = multiple experiences. Tapas are found in almost all restaurants, the prices may vary depending on the location of the restaurant, the more central it is, the more expensive the prices. But we were lucky to find on the streets in our neighborhood many delicious tapas locations at affordable prices.

 MARKET LA BOQUERIA

Boqueria is a colorful and picturesque market with direct access from La Rambla. You’ll find here all the local tastes. The first stop I did here, at 9:00 in the morning, was to get octopus with a glass of beer 🙂 . I recommend freshly cooked dishes because they are the best things here.

PAELLA

Paella was phenomenal here. We ate in several places and tried several choices. My favorite was the one with octopus ink, it’s black paella … you can not confuse it. But the one with chicken, or seafood is just as good. Being the homeland of the paella, you have no way of failing.

SANGRIA

My favorite drink. Being warm outside a cold sangria, with fruits and ice was exactly what I needed. I drank it in several places, in some places the sangria was stronger, with much wine and I felt it the next day 🙂 . My favourite was a sweeter one, not so strong in alcohol, as it was the one from EL Bodegon.

JAMON IBERICO

Their ham, dry and super-slim cut. Very fragrant, it melts in your mouth. Where I went, I chose either tapas or food to contain jamon. I could eat nonstop. My favorite remains at EL Bodegon, where they show passion for this ingredient.

SEA FRUITS

As I said, coastal city, fish and seafood are in their element. Soo eat as much as you can. We’ve been obsessed with some shells in a tiny and cute little bistro that we’ve discovered by mistake one evening. With more than 20 kinds of shells, ranging from classical to garlic, ginger, I tried six kinds of meals while I was there. Everything accompanied by a wonderful Sangria, at La Muscleria .
